I actually need a new helmet, since the one I have has been dropped a few times too many, and it's integrity has been compromised. I asked for one for Christmas, but no one gave it to me!

Borrow more money and buy one! If your parents are willing to lend to you to fix your bike, surely they will lend you more to prevent having to fix your head.

I'm going to get one when the snow melts and I'm actually riding regularly. I don't want to redecorate Flagstaff with my brains, really.

Bicycles are generally moving faster than just standing up people. And you are more likely to get hit by cars or stopped suddenly by stationary objects.
