I've written my third ... thing about my family in the last week, this apparently is a popular topic in language classes in the month of February.

你們好!我叫伍籣妮。這是我的照片、這是我家。我家有五個人、我爸爸、我媽媽、一個第第、一個妹妹、和我。我沒有哥哥姐姐。這是我爸爸,他叫Larry,他是工程師。我媽媽叫 Jacqui,她是法文學生。 我第第叫Bryce,他是工程師學生。我媽媽第第和我都是大學生。 這個女孩子是我妹妹,她叫Bridgette,她是高中學生。

I'm proud of myself. I mean, it wasn't hard, that's really basic Chinese, but holy crap that looks cool. Doesn't it? Doesn't it?

It's doubly confusing for me because I know Japanese, and all my brain can do is go "Why is the kanji for 'like' next to 'gate'?"

I haven't figured out if Japanese is helpful or not, in this class. It's definitely useful to be familiar with the characters, and I know all the stroke orders and stuff, but I may forever read the numbers wrong.
