Hm... maybe, I'd have to play to be sure. My idea though would be a guy that starts off as his partner. Or at least on his side.

Chrono Trigger for sure, and, huh... probably Digital Devil Saga 2.

It'd have a different dynamic, definitely. Kinda like Tony and Grue, I guess, but with more ... equality?

I've never played any of those games! Clearly, I'm missing out.

Probably. The closer age and life situation, if they do like the girl and give him a guy approximately around his age, would probably help.

You should try them! Chrono Trigger is an old SNES RPG, but it was reedited for the PS1 some years ago and packaged with one of the old Final Fantasy. Digital Devil Saga 2 is a game in the Shin Megami Tensei family, and is an AWESOME RPG. Great story, awesome characters, just a damn great game all around. With demons. And cannibals.
