So I paid off one of my credit cards entirely, and then I put like eighty bucks in my savings account—and I can still afford to keep myself fed and even go out and do stuff for the next couple of weeks. Things are totally looking up.

Now, to either finish these prompts for the hell of it, because pushpushlady surrendered; or, return the DVDs I rented last night.

01. Devil May Cry Dante. He's everyone's favorite, pretty much, because he's fucking Dante. Not only that, but he's pretty damn heroic, even if he's mostly a whiny bitch about it—he always does the right thing, no matter what! No, seriously, he does.

02. Transformers Sam. Because I adore dorky, well meaning kids and Sam also does some pretty incredible stuff demonstrating what an awesome person he is. Also, he's really funny. And the way he totally accepts the robots as people so quickly is really amazing. And he gets beaten up by scary government dudes in his futile attempt to help Bumblebee. YOU ARE COOL, SAM.

03. Tales of Symphonia Lloyd. For the same reasons I love Sam; Lloyd also has the thing where he's acquired some fantastic powers and wouldn't even think of using them for self-serving reasons. Maybe it's because he's dumb--okay, it probably is--but I think it's also because he's a really, really scarily good person. He cares about everyone, he always does the right thing... I seriously wish I could be more like this kid, no joke.

04. Newsies Jack. He's neither the selfless heroic guy I usually favor, nor is he the dorky well-meaning kid—that's David. But he tries his best and whatever stupid mistakes he makes, he really, really obviously adores his friends, a lot, which makes me go AWWWWW. Also, a lot of his personality is expressed in his very frequent gestures and grabbing people and stuff, which isn't so much an endearing character trait, but it's fun to watch.

05. Supernatural Dean. He is Dean fucking Winchester, an amazing combination of a badass, smooth talking cool guy, and a complete, dorktastic loser. He's also remarkably sincere even when he's lying. His music rocks. He has a long, long list of endearing traits. The fact that he's so damn gorgeous doesn't hurt, but, honestly? I've spent so much time analyzing the character and watching the show and stuff that—I swear to God—I hardly even notice that, anymore.

06. Dexter Doakes. Doakes was freaking badass, and his instincts about Dexter were right on the money. He was a good cop, he wanted to put the bad guys behind bars! Even Dexter said he was a good man.

07. Battlestar Galactica

08. Saiyuki Gokuu. Dorky, sweet, well-meaning kid again. Even if he's not technically a kid, but... what is he? Earth spirit? God of destruction? I DON'T KNOW. He's probably the strongest living thing in his universe, but he's so ... so ... Gokuu. Bubbly and quirky and friendly and neat.

09. Chronicles of Amber

10. Red vs. Blue

11. The Lost Boys Sam. Because he's basically got the personality of Sam Witwicky, not to mention an older brother he trusts and relies on a whole lot, rather like Sam Winchester. And Michael calls him Sammy. This creepy combination of Sams makes him quite likable, and he manages to kill a vampire by himself, even! Awesome.

12. Psych Shawn. Shawn is a manipulating self-serving jerk who's never finished a thing in his life, has absolutely no reservations lying to even his closet friends, gets by on his charisma and manipulates people just to see if he can get away with it. You'd have to watch the show to get why everyone likes him anyway, because they do. He's not just my favorite character on the show, he's one of my favorite characters ever, I find him completely fascinating.

13. ... Yu-Gi-Oh Kaiba

14. Star Trek: TOS Spock. Because I've always liked Spock best, from when I was a kid. Spock has lots of cool traits, but I dunno what actually elevates him above the also very cool Kirk and McCoy in my mind. I think it's because he can be such a sarcastic bitch without even realizing he's doing it.
