I know, I know, LOL KANJI TATTOO, but this is calligraphy I did while I was exchange studenting it up in Japan for the summer of '04 with my brother and my BFF former roommate Makiko; it means comfort/enjoyment/fun/music and I like it a lot, even if it is probably not as pretty as it'd look if someone who actually knew how to do Japanese calligraphy had written it, but this way it is fun and meaningful and stuff.

So, suggestions? Size and placement? SHOULD I ADD ANYTHING TO IT OR JUST GET IT LIKE THAT? My artistic skills are equivalent to a person who really really sucks at art and I've never had a tattoo before.

I needed you to say it was 楽 before I realized that's what it was, so, I dunno. It's got a lot of personal significance to you, but it may also make you look like a tard to people who don't realize that.

Well, making it all wavy on the sides was how I was told to write it by the awesome old Japanese people teaching me how to write it out and crap, which made more sense when I found this variation of the character -- yeah, I don't want to look like a total idiot. BUT SINCE I CAN'T HELP MY SHITTY HANDWRITING that's why I was thinking of maybe adding more to it so it wouldn't be the only thing look all stupid on me. But I have no art skills so I can't think of anything good.

Ohhhh, I see now. So it's the non-simplified version... I'm not familiar with the old-school versions of kanji, so no wonder I had trouble recognizing it. Hmmm. I DUNNO.

I MEAN, YOU CAN USE IT TO MAKE THE WORD FOR MUSIC, OR THE WORD FOR PARADISE. FUCK YES.

apparently 音楽園 is an actual working phrase. NICE.

Is it? I know 音楽 from Chinese, it is YINYUE and means music.

It's pronounced ongaku in Japanese, same meaning. 楽園 is rakuen, paradise. Like the song that plays when Wolfwood dies ;_;

Ok, first off. Don't add to it. It will just look messy otherwise.

As for placement, well it depends on you. If you want people to see it, i suggest perhaps your wrist or ankle. (Obviously, the size will have to be smaller if you do choose a spot like that).

Personally, i think that the back of the neck would look good. My friend has some sort of Korean script that runs down the length of her spine and it looks crazy cool!

Oh and keep it black.
