yes, still stuck in bed. nope, nothing better to do than memes.

List 10 of your favorite characters from different fandoms, and ask people to spot patterns in your choices, and if they're so inclined, to draw conclusions about you based on the patterns they've spotted.
1. Dante (Devil May Cry)
2. Shawn Spencer (Psych)
3. Sam Witwicky (Transformers)
4. Lloyd Irving (Tales of Symphonia)
5. Dean Winchester (Supernatural)
6. Captain James T. Kirk (Star Trek: The Original Series)
7. The Road to El Dorado (Miguel)
8. Stan Marsh (South Park)
9. Jack Kelly (Newsies)
10. Son Gokuu (Saiyuuki)

There is absolutely no pattern there, none at all. It sort of bothers me that these are all dudes, but since I almost exclusively favor the main character and most of my fandoms are very action-oriented, it's not often that the lead is going to be a chick. It's not that my fandoms lack ass-kicking women, but usually it's the main character by definition who makes the dramatic moral decisions, and apparently someone deciding to do the right thing is the closest thing I will ever have to a kink.

HE IS NOT BORING exactly? Honestly he's probably the most interesting character at this point, Sam and Dean are Sam and Dean and we're sort of used to their issues and shenanigans at this point, Castiel is new. And I think a lot of Castiel's fans view him through kawaiikawaii goggles—in the show's writing he's pretty consistently portrayed as a really scary ruthless supernatural creature, which I think makes his soft spot for Dean a lot more compelling. But he is so SERIOUS BUSINESS geez Dean mocks him sometimes but Cass just goes :| and it never seems to stick.

I think he either made one joke in the entire season, or he sort of snorted at one joke Dean made. And the fandom I saw was like OMG HE HAS FEEEEEEEELINGS but seriously, it was one time.

Man I would feel sort of weird in their shoes, knowing I was basically extorting conversation out of people.

HE NEEDS MORE MOCKING. That is a good solution to most things.

I THINK THEY THINK I'M FRIENDLY

I THINK HE MIGHT NOT NEED THAT. Last we saw him, he openly defied heaven's orders, broke out Dean, went to find Chuck the Prophet and was facing down an archangel before we had to cut to Sam's histrionic heroism.

I AM NOT SO SURE, I HAVE MET A LOT OF PEOPLE WHO SEEM TO BE TOTALLY AWARE OF THE FACT THAT CERTAIN PEOPLE—HAIRSTYLISTS, WAITRESSES, RETAIL PEOPLE, PERHAPS CURVES PEOPLE—ACTUALLY CANNOT REMOVE THEMSELVES FROM THE CONVERSATION. THEY WILL SINK THEIR CLAWS INTO YOU AND NEVER LET YOU GO UNTIL YOU KNOW THAT THEY HAVE GONE BACK TO COLLEGE AND THEIR KIDS ARE FIVE AND EIGHT AND THEIR HUSBAND LIVES IN RENO NOW AND HOW ABOUT THEM LAKERS AND AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH.

Everyone needs more mocking. Maybe not about those particular things, but!

that is how I earn my seven dollars an hour. that and knowing what double positive resistance is. and the names of the machines.

They could make fun of his incredible range of expressions.

Seven dollars an hour truly isn't worth it until they throw in tips.

I approve this mocking! It's the same treatment we give Keanu Reeves!

I'm honestly less annoyed at the job "being fake-cordial constantly at Curves" right now than I am at the "play with puppies and mop things and not have to talk to people and be paid more" job at the vet's. I'll elaborate elsewhere, blah.

Keanu Reeves has even less. Unless he's playing Ted Logan, he was strangely emotive in that movie!

D: Noooooooo.

anyway if you were hypothetically one of the curves people you wouldn't have to feel weird, it's what I'm paid for. My other being-paid-for option is to sit and bum around on the internet and read my book, which would be a great job that is sadly not mine!

The mysterious other girl does it, I bet!

I've met her now, she seems okay! I totally don't blame her for sitting around, but seeing as they've made it really clear in all of the training material that I was given that they want you out there, I would feel like scum for basically ignoring what I know to be my job! Plus, if the customers consistently say they like me, I might get more hours.

[identity profile] rocknload.livejournal.com 2009-06-17 12:57 am (UTC)(link)
Hm, how long has she been there?

More hours, really? God, I am a black hole of fun when it comes to your job apparently, I AM SORRY I DO NOT MEAN TO BE, but I feel obligated to tell you that whenever I have been promised more hours in response to better sales/customer service/managers liking me better, it has always been a lie. Maybe GameStop has just poisoned me to this kind of thing.

TWO MONTHS MORE THAN ME

I don't know for sure or care, I am just doing the job as I understand it. I do know if they like me they'll give me more closing/opening hours because those are trusted positions.

MAYBE CYNICISM HAS SET IN

SO LONG AS NO ONE REALLY TAKES ADVANTAGE OF IT WITH THINGS YOU TOTALLY DO NOT WANT TO HEAR, I guess it is fine. Even then I guess it would be, uh, okay. You're sort of trusted already, aren't you? I get the impression you're totally alone there.
unicorn: a unicorn skull. (BZZZT you are a winner)

[personal profile] unicorn 2009-06-17 01:11 am (UTC)(link)
I DON'T CARE WHAT I HEAR EXCEPT FOR THE ASSHOLE RACIST LADY, whatever, they can talk at me. And yeah, I am, but only for a couple hours at a time.

WHAT DOES SHE SAY, PERHAPS YOU CAN CUNNINGLY CUT HER OFF WITHOUT PUTTING YOUR JOB IN JEOPARDY. And that's trust! I bet there's piles of money you could run off with, or maybe you want a new set of free weights. Or something.

There is neither money nor free weights! I guess I could steal Curves Tshirts.
