It's funny because I notice Muslims, too -- because I was welcomed into their community a few years ago when I went to teach at a private Islamic school. I was invited to all of the families' gatherings, both religious and otherwise, I was treated with respect even though I wasn't required (and therefore didn't) wear a hijab when I taught (I did observe the conventions of modesty, like not showing my legs and arms) and was generally treated better than I ever was working in an "American" setting.
They were, in fact, some of the best Americans I've known.
