I think the way the episode was set up, he could have been Ben's son--but yeah, I'm sure in the show's canon, he wasn't, and I doubt he'll show up again.
And in this fic, I was trying to imply that Ben doesn't know that Dean's his father. Dean, Sam, and Lisa know, but if Ben does he's only got a suspicion and a vague idea. I actually think Dean fucks up remarkably in this fic, but not telling him is, to me at least, the right thing to do. Because whatever the biology, if Dean's doing not much but writing letters, they don't have that kind of relationship, and if Ben expected it... well, it'd fucking hurt. More than it probably does already.
And yeah, I don't plan to continue--though it's happened before without me planning on it, I doubt I will. ^^ The ending, yeah, isn't particularly strong, and sorry it fell flat for you. I hate that in stories, myself.
