Why yes, I'm still going on about the game. S'not too often that I get new stuff for my fandom, guys~.

WHO THE FUCK IS NERO?!

Seriously, Capcom, the fact that you didn't explain that beyond cryptic hints that he's somehow related to Dante is completely fucking unacceptable. There's not a whole lotta ways that kid could have the "blood of Sparda," you guys must have realized, so you decided to what? Never explain it. Leaving it for the sequel, my ass, you just couldn't figure out a convincing backstory. FUCK YOU GUYS.

...

I'm still seething. But okay.

Nero becoming Dante's successor--or whatever they said in the interviews--is pretty much bullshit, because the narrative is almost set up in a way to demonstrate how much more awesome Dante is. Seriously. Nero fights Dante twice, and both times Dante makes it clear that he's just fucking with the kid and goofing around. Nero goes around and fights a bunch of bosses; on Dante's play through he has to kill all of them, because Nero only wounded and stalled them. When they finally defeat the final boss, Dante lets Nero take it, because... he... feels like it, apparently.

Dante, in fact, at no point seems alarmed, upset, or put out more than mild concern for Nero and irritation at having to run the fuck around all the time. Credo's death seemed to bug him a little bit... He screws around with pretty much everyone, pretty much all the time, possibly 'cause he's so damn bored.

Apparently, being brainwashed and killed by Dante wasn't a terrible enough fate for Vergil. The evil church's apparently been taking pieces of his soul and using it to power various evil machinations. That sucks. Nero's now the owner of the Yamato. So he's dead, right? Gotta be, with the... soul fracturing thing. I figured he was, anyway.

It obviously really, really sucks to be Vergil.

We never got to see Trish doing much, though we can assume she was up to some demon slaying badassery offscreen, somewhere. Her boobs jiggle when she walks. A lot. It looks alarming. Her turn as Gloria was funny, especially when Dante saw how she'd dressed herself up. (His response? "AHAHAHAHAHA.")

Lady was in the game even less, though both the scenes of all three of them hanging out were A++. (Dante has apparently noticed Lady's costume change...) They've developed a really neat camaraderie that I really wish we'd gotten to see more of. Ah, well.

I wish Kyrie hadn't been so boring. I can't blame her for failing to be as asskicking as, well, everyone else--characters don't have to be combat ready to be interesting--but she could've had personality in her dialogue. Or in anything she did. Ever. I guess that's the problem with characters who spend most of the game as hostages...

... Who the fuck is Nero?!

No, really, who is he.

Characterization of the older characters was spot on for every second they were on screen, the voice acting was pretty damn good. Choreography for the fight scenes, and direction, the dialogue, it's all great. Nero was awesome when he was awesoming, kind of lame while he was angsting, but he spent more time being sarcastic and cool than whining.

Some of the bosses are suffering from a serious case of what the fuck. God, Capcom.

Okay, I think Ive rambled enough! Also, I haven't eaten today. NooooooOoooo.
