My brother was sick of dressing like a high school slob and I'm trying to get responsible and crap, so today we did a lot of... practical shopping. That's right. No video games. No pizza, candy, or booze. I bought a purse 'cause I haven't needed one in years. Bryce got clothes, and we also needed shampoo and crap. ... Okay, we spent a lotta time screwing around in the motorcycle shop, but we didn't get anything.

Talked meta for about four hours straight. Bryce has some really weird ideas about Nero and thinks Dante/Trish is canon.

Looking over my goals for 2008. One down!

... Don't wanna clean more. Or study. But. Gotta.

Nero having some connection to Sparda, not Vergil!

And he thinks Dante/Trish is canon because he thinks Capcom thinks Dante/Trish is canon.

The how is not yet worked out. The why is 'cause Nero's given a lot more Sparda traits than either Dante or Vergil--and a huge deal is made out of Nero having fallen for a human, just like Sparda. Nero still uses Yamato, though, and has a lot of Vergil lines. And apparently hears a voice in his head that says, "I need more power." So I don't know.

He's probably right. A lot of the official art from the first game has her hanging all over him, and apparently the recap calls Trish "Dante's love," so.

Terrible lame realistic things! If Sparda loved humanity so much, I don't think he'd have kept it in his pants THAT LONG.

The alternate explanation is that they... did something random and now Vergil is haunting him.

If he's a Vergil-clone it doesn't necessarily mean he has much of a connection to Vergil besides apparently schizophrenia. DANTE is a Vergil-clone.

Okay, technically, yeah, I cannot argue that.

One of the scientists in DMC4--the guy Dante shot in the face to Shakespeare--was up to some seriously bad mojo, part of which apparently involved manipulating whatever's left of Vergil's soul. I suspect the Vergil connection's gonna have to do with that.
