Well to be honest at least in the particular Asian country I live in I haven't seen a whole lot of interest in public health—there's no soap in most of the bathrooms, for example, and nobody really washes their hands most of the time. When I first got here and asked people why the hell everybody was wearing the face masks the explanation I usually got was because of the air pollution.
