“And you’re an angel,” Dean continued, scratching the back of his head.

Colette shuffled her feet and looked down at the ground. “I’m… sorry, I just…”

He winced. “Nah, really, it’s okay.” He reached out to give her a pat on the shoulder. “We’re only after the nasty guys, you know, use their powers to eat people or something, and you…”

Her eyes widened. “I would never—”

“Exactly. Cute girl like you? You’ve got nothing to worry about.” He realized his hand was still on her shoulder, and it was starting to get awkward, so he pulled it back. “But I won’t say that’s not pretty crazy. Freakin’ angels…”
