After school, gonna drive down to Phoenix to watch Wall-E with pushpushlady. It will be awesome. Considering driving the bike down to save on gas, but, er.

Edited to complain: I can't believed I missed the epic meltdown of rp_secrets because I was at work. Screw work. And the fandom_wank writeup kind of sucks. Woe. Woe and pain.

You might actually do a little better, since you had PICTURES. I can't imagine anyone trying to memorize mitosis/meiosis without visual aids. Poor fools.

I saw it already, so I can tell you that it's very good! Though why everyone keeps saying it's subtle, I do not know. I think there's a limit on how many 2001 references you can make before you run out of subtlety cred.

I think they are saying it's subtle because they are trying to defame the people who are going IT HAS A LIBERAL AGENDA!!! Both sides are thus being stupid, as in any argument.

I have noticed that all robot movies are unsubtle, though. This is just one of the only ones where the robot is the protagonist.

See, I think they're saying that it's subtle because they are idiots and think anything that requires the slightest amount of thought to understand what's going on because the characters are not spelling it out for you in expositional dialogue is subtle and artistic and crap.

2001 is pretty subtle. If HAL counts as a robot, I guess he's more like an artificially intelligent computer. As is Bladerunner. And Silent Running.

I think Wall-E was actually really influenced by this robot, from Short Circuit. But I think that counts as another unsubtle movie, as he spends most of it trying to avoid being destroyed and shouting "NUMBER FIVE IS ALIVE! NO DISASSEMBLE!"
