First off, everything I wrote! This is not including drabbles, but finished, polished, and posted stories, in chronological order!
[supernatural] "When you come to a fork in the road"
Dean and Ben fic!
[devil may cry] "God Child"
Vergil as a teenager.
[devil may cry] "On and on"
Post DMC4, Dante/Trish-ish.
[newsies] "Words Can't Never Hurt Me"
Newsies! I like writing Jack's voice and he is OH MY GOD SO ADORABLE, I honestly like making him just TALK.
[newsies] "The Trick Is"
SAME, more Jack/David not quite slash.
[speed racer] "One Way"
LOVE THIS MOVIE. HAD TO FIC IT.
[transformers] "Redesign"
Sam and Mikaela and Bumblebee being awkward.
[the dark knight] "your streets so neat and clean"
Er. Joker-fic. I LIKED THE WAY HE TALKS, OKAY?
[iron man] "Word Association"
Tony and Rhodey at college.
[tales of symphonia] "Crossings"
Aurion family in HAPPIER TIMES.
[iron man] "Get Your Gun, I'm Done"
The fic where I made Tony's life horrible and hell.
Okay! Eleven. That's not bad, right? Like, almost one a month. Not counting drabbles! God, I suck.
Looking back, did you write more fic than you thought you would this year, less, or about what you'd predicted?
I wish I'd written more, man. I don't write enough, and I wrote a hell of a lot more in 2007, even if it was like a million Devil May Cry fics, I could see a lot of improvement then and here, uh, not so much!
What pairing/genre/fandom did you write that you would never have predicted in 2006?
Speed Racer! MY DAD'S FAVORITE CARTOON AS A KID, except this was for the movie. But still.
What's your favorite story of the year? Not the most popular, but the one that makes you happiest?
Probably the Newsies stuff. It's IC enough to make me totally happy and there's nothing complicated and no annoying technical stuff that makes me cringe later, I can just reread it and think David and Jack are being cute, I CAN ENJOY MY OWN STORY, it's weird.
Did you take any writing risks this year?
The Iron Man fandom kind of intimidated me, because they've got hella good writers there, and also my fic was about killing Rhodey and Jarvis and making Tony basically lose his mind and mentioning other Marvel characters I don't know as well and worrying I was writing him really OOC—writing Tony is really hard for me, I angst about it a lot—so yeah. Those ones.
Do you have any fanfic or profic goals for the New Year?
I don't know if I'll write much more fic, but I hope to write a lot more next year. Mostly working on the webcomic and a story called The City Without the Sun, which is all brand new and very shiny. I wish I could finish it. No, my goal is to finish it! That sounds more proactive.
My Favorite Story
"Word Association." I love my version of teenaged Tony, is that lame of me to say?
Story Most Underappreciated by the Universe
"your streets so neat and clean." I posted it somewhere but I barely even showed it to people I know, man. I was kind of afraid.
Most fun
"your streets so neat and clean." ... Yeah, the same one. I am changing this to "Redesign" because OMG SAAAAAM. As some of you might know, I have almost an unhealthy adoration for Sam and I'm pretty sure I wrote this solely to make him talk for five pages.
Most disappointing
"God Child." IT WAS SO COOL IN MY HEAD but holy crap, I hate that story. HATE.
Hardest to Write
"Get Your Gun, I'm Done." The first first scenes I just wrote and then I agonized over every. Goddamn. Word. But it's probably also the most satisfying thing I've written, not because I got a lot of awesome comments, but because I was being vague and weird and ... I don't know, probably a bit pretentious, but then I showed it to people and they understood. Not just a few people, a lot of people! I felt like I'd totally done what I was trying to do, and it made me so freaking happy.
On fanfiction.net, I'm pretty sure this got no comments. Zero. But I don't even care, and I'm not just saying that.
Most Unintentionally Telling
"When you come to a fork in the road" and "Crossings." Basically, any story with kids in it. I love kids, totally love them. EVERYONE SHOULD LOVE KIDS, too, that is what it reveals.
Maybe I should go to bed sometime this ... sometime.
