The tick's head burrowing in thing? Nah, that's an old wives' tale. They just cling for a day or so and fall off. People thought that because you can get a mild infection from it sticking in there and the slight swelling made the head less visible.
Oh. Huh. That's actually good to know. I meant more the tick itself, though, as a response to, you know, something trying to kill it while it's still attached to your body, but hey, I would be happy to hear that's an old wives' tale too.
Yeah, it is. They can't burrow. They can only stick their hypostome in your skin. It goes down an eighth of an inch. Extremely unremarkable, I promise.
