Man, my father just got surgery on his hand, my mother has needed help with practically everything ever, a French girl named Romance has just moved into my house for the school year, we have three surveys we have to do in the next two weeks, and I'm supposed to move to Tucson, like ... when? One of the jobs is in Los Angeles. How am I gonna do that? I don't have time to do anything as it is.

That's not true, I did read The Sun Also Rises last night.

My paid account expired? What? I miss everything.

My student loan came in? What? Where the hell did they mail that check? Noooooooooooo.

Edit: Oh, and I forgot, I also had to head back to the doctor to have another mysterious rash checked out. But that's probably just a flare up from my previous reaction. The medicine I take to make it go away knocks me out for about twelve hours every night. I'm so sick of the doctor.

The Sun Also Rises! The only Hemingway novel I read so far and actually liked analysing and whatnot.

I'm not sure if I liked it or not. Not nearly as much seemed to happen as, say, A Farewell to Arms, and the racism made me cringe.

I think what I liked about it (I mean yes, the racism was crap) was that at first glance the story seemed really simplistic and . . . well about nothing, really. But what I discovered about Hemingway (even in his short stories) was that since he does use that simple and direct writing style, it deceives the reader. By that, he shows us the tip of the iceberg, but there's more to it than the surface. :D

. . . Something like that. The way I see it is that it seems like a plot of a bunch of men and women partying their arses off for no apparent reasons. But really, I think this book captures that Lost Generation era really well, since after the first world war, many people were jaded with life and just did that endless "partying" to search for the meaning of life again. And I also like how this novel practically flips the gender roles around in the book. Like Brett is not a typical woman for that time period and is more masculine (including her name) and whatnot.

. . . Okay, I'll shut up.

TRUE. It's sort of interfering with the rest of my life, unfortunately.
