Fuck you, White Collar. Your season finale was so fucking awful that I don't even care about your ridiculous as fuck ending. I don't care when you come back on the air again. I am no longer going to be telling people how well written you are and I'm starting to realize that you aren't nearly as friendly to your female characters as I initially thought.

You are on notice.

I still have no idea how I feel about Alex. The stealing the music box and then reappearing with kind of had me going "...what?" I mean, I guess it's supposed to be noble and maybe make the audience feel like she's a more trustworthy character or something? As for Diana...I don't remember or didn't notice that? She was supposed to have been in DC, so I think she was only in town because Peter called her.

You'd think with the lengths he's gone through for her - breaking out of jail, getting the music box, and everything in between...I don't know, it's as if he acts like she's important when she's not around? Yeah, the handwave was kind of :/ ...come on, guys, you've been separated forever and now it's just a casual wave? They should have been RUNNING TO EACH OTHERS' ARMS. Unless they're trying to do some take where Kate knew she had to get Neal on the plane ASAP for the explosion but that's just another LET'S ALL HATE KATE angle and just ugh. Or Neal's been poisoned with all this doubt about Kate even though she's still his "weakness." All we've "heard" is Peter's meeting with her and random "don't try to come after me, Neal", but there's nothing that's for sure that that was the truth, or that Kate was presenting the truth to him and just adksfjdf. Again, so one-sided.

Yeah. It sort of annoys me because I've been reccing this show to people partially on the basis of "lots of female characters! well written, too, it's great!" And then you have Kate, a character we only know based on male character's opinions of her. We can't even make a guess at what she was ~really~ up to because really, we don't know her whatsoever. After fourteen episodes, we're at the same place with her as we were in the pilot, and I think we're supposed to just trust Peter and Elizabeth's opinions of her--and seriously, what is up with, "You can be in love with the idea of someone rather than being in love with them." What is Elizabeth even basing that on. She doesn't know Kate, either!

I JUST DO NOT GET why the "right" and "smart" thing for Neal to do is stay with his new cushy job and walk away from his girlfriend of the past 8+ years without even making sure she's alright.
