Most people think Arizona is dry and ugly, and this is completely true! Unless you're talking about the northern half of the state, which is almost entirely gorgeous forrests and striking mountains. My family's house is in the shadow of a giant fucking volcano. Northern Arizona also has insane rock formations, and the Grand Canyon, which I've seen lots of times and still don't actually believe in. I mean, I see it, but I cannot accept it as a genuine for real thing.
I'm actually not even from Arizona, I was born in Los Angeles and raised in Big Bear Lake, but if I was going to lie and pick a place to be from—and I sort of frequently do—it's Arizona.
I wrote this entry so I'd have something to do instead of working on my Chinese translation about the link between media influence and school shootings. It's even less fun than it sounds. My study abroad application is due on Monday and I find out if I got my scholarship in twelve days. But no pressure!
