Okay, so instead of sleeping tonight I spent the evening Googling very pretty pictures of Christian Bale and capslocking about my appreciation about them. With arcesso and mystified--who happen to be the proper age to do this sorta thing. I am not.

I'm also watching Swing Kids. Well, I was, until the character that looks and acts a hell of a lot like Jack Kelly--even calls himself a Cowboy--started turning Nazi.

... I'll be less pathetic tomorrow, I swear. Also, very tired.

Edit: This movie took a frightening turn. YOU AREN'T JACK, THOMAS.

NAZIS ARE EVIL.

THAT WAS A DEPRESSING FUCKING MOVIE.

He realized that he was TRYING TO KILL HIS BEST FRIEND and then he suddenly decided that he didn't want to do that and so he stopped. Not!Jack had also done some other stuff in the movie--he inadvertently got his father arrested by the Gestapo and said some stuff that helped convince their third friend to commit suicide. I think that stuff messed him up, which is why he decided to be, like, all for Hilter and stuff.

Anyway, after deciding to not kill his BFF, he told his BFF to run before he got arrested and sent to prison camp. BFF refused. Not!Jack begged him to run. BFF refused and got arrested and taken away. That's the end of the movie.

I don't think it handled Not!Jack's change of heart all that well--he beat the crap out a couple of people for being evil Nazi dudes in the beginning, and then he was all... But Not!Jack wasn't the main character, the BFF was. They explained him better.

It was kind of jarring, though, that Not!Jack got into a fist fight to avenge the beating of one of his friends, and then later in the movie he tells that same friend, "Once we're done with the Gypsies and the Jews, we're coming for you."

I guess it was a good movie, but man, not happy material.

It sounds like they yanked his character around for effect a little, which is justifiable if done well, but... eh.
